When search for a place to settle down and call home, many factors may play into one's decision, such as safety and criminal activity, proximity to incredible restaurants and exciting nightlife, and access to quality health care or education. However, one of the biggest concerns when it comes to finding a home is the price. While there are plenty of more affordable places to live around the state, if you're looking for something a bit more extravagant, it will come with a heftier price tag.

According to a list compiled by Family Handyman, the most expensive neighborhood in all of South Carolina is Sullivan's Island and the 29482 zip code. This spot located just outside of Charleston has a sky-high median home value of close to $2 million.

Here's what the site had to say about the most expensive zip code in the state:

"A town and island in Charleston County, Sullivan's Island has a median home value of $1,834,600. It's considered part of the Charleston metropolitan area, which is well-known as an affluent and bustling small city featuring cobblestone streets, horse-drawn carriages and pastel antebellum houses. Creating a luxury home in a modest neighborhood may not make financial sense. A real estate agent or home appraiser can make a close estimate."
